As a columnist for Het Parool, Roos Schlikker doesn’t shy away from anything. Whether it’s her mother’s bipolar disorder or her youngest son suddenly marching into the room as ‘Arend Hitler’—she writes about it all, sharp and unfiltered. Turning a selection of her columns into a book? Sounds like a great plan! She figures she’ll get it done in a single weekend. But then… her late mother and teenage daughter unexpectedly appear in the room. Will she manage to finish the book? Or will old wounds that never quite stopped itching finally reopen?

Lummelbout is a cabaret-style show packed with laughs, but it doesn’t shy away from life’s tougher topics. The script, written by Erris van Ginkel, is based on Roos Schlikker’s columns.
